Acne & Oily Skin Beating Stuff

Hey guys, in my article about Argan Oil, I promised to follow up on natural oils and butters that are good for curing and taming acne. When you’re looking for a product, make sure that it is non-comedogenic. Non-comedogenic products are those that will block your pores when you use them. Due to their ability to prevent pores from getting clogged, you’re likely to end up with skin that’s less greasy as non-comedogenic products regulate the production of sebum in the skin. With a less greasy face, you get less spots. I’m telling you, it’s quite simple. There are some people that have severe acne that will not be cured overnight and there’s obviously a lot more to treat the acne than having a right skin care regime however, I know several people with very bad acne that swear by using non-comedogenic butters and oils. It has not totally gotten rid of their acne however it has helped to reduce the spots on their skin quite dramatically and aids skin irritation, inflammation and swelling.

You can start by applying butter or an oil to the skin in the evening. It’s often too greasy or oily to apply in the morning and you won’t feel very pretty at all. I use Argan Oil in the evening and I use a really small amount as it’s not only quite expensive, but a little goes quite a long way. I do use Shea Butter in the morning though, which is also non- comedogenic as I have some really messed up, combination skin where it’s oily in some places and dry in the other. Finding something to moisturise the dry parts of my face and something which isn’t too greasy for the oily parts of my face has honestly been a nightmare but alhamdulillah, Shea Butter has ended my search.

Below is the chart of the non-comedogenic oils and butters that I’ve compiled. You can mix them together to create an cleanser (more detail here) and as a moisturiser too.
