The Mixstress Workshop | Curly Wurly Deep Treatment Butter
It’s been a little while since I gave you ladies a recipe so, I decided to give you yet another butter but this time, it’s a deep treatment for your curly locks. This super hydrating butter contains Avocado, Mango and Shea butters alongside Argan Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Aloe Vera Juice and Amla Oil. I’d suggest it for all you curly ladies because it is quite moisturising and may leave other hair types too greasy and we certainly don’t want greasy ‘I’ve just rolled around in chip fat’ kinda hair now, do we?
Use it as a deep conditioning treatment by slathering it all over your hair, leaving it in for at least an hour then washing it out. Another suggestion would be to melt it then mix it with hair conditioner. The results I’ve had with this butter are amazing so of course I was going to impart this wonderful thing to you!
2 tablespoons each of Avocado Butter, Shea Butter and Mango Butter.
2 tablespoons of Amla Oil
2 tablespoons of Sweet Almond Oil
1 tablespoon of Argan Oil
2 tablespoons of Aloe Vera Juice
1 teaspoon of Glycerine
3 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
Not included in the picture but, 1 tablespoon of Orange Water and 1 teaspoon of Polysorbate 20 (an emulsifier to mix together the oils and the Orange Water and Aloe Vera Juice.
What to Do:
Boil water in a large pot until it’s simmering and place a metal bowl over the pot. Add the butters into the bowl and wait for them to melt, once they’ve melted, add the oils, Orange Water and Aloe Vera Juice. Mix well. You’ll see that the Orange Water and Aloe Vera Juice is separated and here comes the magical bit! Add the Polysorbate 20 into the mixture and stir. Voila! The mixture isn’t separated anymore. Pour the mix into a container then leave it in the freezer for around 1-2 hours or until it’s solid.
