MAC Studio Fix Fluid | My Weekly Love
I’m lucky enough to get the chance to test out different products but I’m not too fond of trying out foundations and concealers as I tend to come across the wrong shades, textures, coverage and consistency but lately, I’ve come across great foundations including Lancome’s new Teint Idole Ultra 24h (review coming soon!) and MAC’s Studio Fix Fluid Foundation.
I gave up on MAC foundation years ago after not being able to find the right shade for me. It seems that the make-up artists are genuinely confused about my skin tone. I was once colour matched to be an NW45 and it turned out that the shade was too orange and then I was a NC50 which was too dark so you can imagine why I gave up and went over to NARS and found my true love, their Sheer Glow foundation. If I’ve found the perfect foundation, why am I trying out these ones I hear you ladies ask. Well, out of curiosity I wanted to know what the make-up artist would match me as and this time, I’m an NC45! That’s the end of my worries until I go on holiday this year and get all tanned but I’ll be worrying about that when all my university exams are done and dusted.
Anyway, the make-up artist who colour matched me gave me the Studio Fix Fluid to take away with me and try out and so far, I’m in love. It’s a great consistency and the coverage is full but if you know how to apply it well, you can apply it lightly and still get the foundation to cover blemishes and marks.
Two problems I have with the foundation though is that it smells very chemical-like. Also, the foundation dries very quickly (even though it glides well… strange).
