Double Cleansing With Antipodes!
I couldn’t talk about my love for double cleansing enough! There are those days where your skin just feels so grimy that you need a thorough cleanse but not quite as deep as a facial and that’s where double cleansing comes in handy!
Antipodes is a brand that I just discovered but has had a pretty big impact on my skin in the short time that I’ve been using it. The Aura Manuka Honey Mask is my Product of the Month because it’s just totally transformed my skin and so have the Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser and Grapeseed Butter Cleanser which I’ve been double cleansing with.
I start off with massaging the Grapeseed Butter Cleanser into my skin which Antipodes founder Elizabeth Barbalich personally gifted to me with harekeke, cacao butter and hibiscus flower. I drink a lot of hibiscus tea but I’ve never come across hibiscus in a skincare product so I was definitely intrigued to try it. Other ingredients in the cleanser include coconut oil, lavender oil, blue chamomile, olive oil and shea butter. It’s a wonderful concoction of fabulous ingredients and it removes all the muck on my skin. When I’m not double cleansing and just using it daily, Elizabeth suggested I use it in the morning. I’ve never thought of using a cleansing butter in the morning as I believed my skin wouldn’t need it as much as in comparison to the evening but my muslin cloth takes away all the dirt which left me surprised the first time I tried it!
When I’m done with the Grapeseed Butter Cleanser, I won’t remove it with a muslin cloth like I do in the morning but instead I just massage even further with the Juliet Skin-Brightening Gel Cleanser. This is my evening cleanser and it’s just perfect. It removes make-up, cleanses my skin and leaves it clean but never dry. The ingredients in this amazing cleanser are Manuka honey, kiwifruit, avocado oil, hibiscus flower and an anti-ageing compound called Vinzana Performance Plus which is packed with Sauvignon Blanc grape and kiwi seeds which is supposed to decrease melanin production and help with freckling and pigmentation. The smell is just absolutely divine; a sweet smelling mix of apples and grapes which just makes me look forward to using it at the end of the day.
This is what I’ll do once a week and if I do an DIY facial, I’ll follow it up with the Aura Manuka Honey Mask or a mask I’ll mix myself with yoghurt, Bentonite clay and a spoon of honey. The next morning, the results are so clear to see. My skin’s clearer, smoother and most definitely brighter!
