The Mixstress Workshop | Coconut Milk Salt Scrub
With the recent downpours in London, it may not feel like summer but it’s on its way and for me, scents synonymous with summer include coconut, lemon, mango, jasmine, rose and any other fruity scents! The Coconut Milk Salt Scrub literally filled my bathroom with the scent of coconut and there’s no perfume or artificial scents so it’s just the ingredients in the kitchen making the scrub smell so divine!
1/2 a cup of salt (sea salt, table salt.. any salt!)
2 heaped tablespoons of coconut milk – please make sure the coconut milk you’re using is fairly thick as you want the scrub to be thick and not runny. You can tell whether or not the coconut milk in a tin is thick or not by shaking it and if you hear liquid, don’t get it!
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
Pour the salt into a bowl
Add the spoons of coconut milk into the milk and stir the coconut milk and salt well
Melt the coconut oil in the microwave for no more than 30 seconds; this is because coconut oil tends to be quite hard under a certain temperature and this’ll make sure scrub lumpy
Once the oil is fully melted, pour it into the mixture of coconut oil and salt and once again, stir it well
If you like, you could add a spoon honey to the scrub for an extra luxurious treat but it’s indulgent enough as it is with the heated coconut oil and the smell of coconut lingers on your skin. Ultimate luxury with just three cooking ingredients!
