How I Keep My Hair Moisturised & Frizz Free By Shampooing
I’m a clean freak so my hair must be squeaky clean when shampooing but that only results in dry, brittle hair so what’s a girl to do? I always go for shampoos that point out they’re hydrating or moisturising as they have a less harsh effect on the hair but I thought I’d test out whether adding an oil to my shampoos would make any difference in terms of how moisturised it is which therefore would reduce the chances of my hair being damaged. All I did was add a couple of spoons of olive oil to my shampoo and then use it how I normally do which is to shampoo twice. I never wash my hair without using a conditioner afterwards but I skipped this to measure just how moisturised my hair felt afterwards. I also used minimal product and just spritzed the Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist*.
After shampooing, one word to describe the whole experience is weird. Very weird. I seriously can’t remember the last time I shampooed without using a conditoner afterwards and getting out of my comfort zone was quite hard but my hair wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be without a conditioner. In fact, my hair feels clean, weightless and curls are better defined.
I’ll definitely be adding oils to my shampoo from now on, or maybe even the slightest bit of melted shea butter. I’ll experiment a little more and keep you updated!
