We all have that friend who always smells so good and tells you about the latest fragrance she’s wearing. Well, my best friend is exactly like that and I’ve come across many of my favourite fragrances such as YSL’s Cinema thanks to her and now I can also thank her for introducing me to Hermes’ Elixir Des Merveilles!

For me, upon first smell, Elixir Des Merveilles smelled rather masculine and very in your face, however it later dries down to a powdery yet creamy, chocolate fragrance with a hint of orange. There’s also tonka bean, sandalwood and amber which add depth to the sweetness of the fragrance.
Elixir Des Merveilles is a gourmand fragrance which I absolutely love wearing in the winter. It’s a warm and cosy fragrance which evokes the urge to wear furry socks and drink hot chocolate beside a fire.
