BeautyMART Is Coming To Shoreditch
East Enders, get out your diaries and cross out any prior engagements and commitments because for six weeks only BeautyMART is coming to town with a pop-up from the 1st July 2013 at Boxpark, Shoreditch! Beauty enthusiasts across London will know about BeautyMART, brainchild of Millie Kendall MBE the other half of cosmetics line Ruby & Millie and Anna-Marie Solowij former Vogue beauty director. Situated on the third floor of Harvey Nichols, BeautyMART is a bit of a revolution in upmarket Knightsbridge – affordable brands like Carmex and Bourjois sit on the shelves alongside the high-end.
You’ll find French skincare champions including Bioderma and Embryolisse, niche Asian brands and Balmain’s hair care line all in one place, most of which are impossible to find in the East End of London. The pop-up is absolute genius and just shows how versatile BeautyMART can be to their surroundings whether it’s Knightsbridge, Liverpool where women are more glam and daring with beauty or hipster haunt Shoreditch. Here’s what Millie had to say about what’s in store:
- Why Shoreditch? It was always the plan to open in Shoreditch, and at one point it may have been before or to coincide with the Harvey Nichols opening.
- Considering Shoreditch is an area with a trendier, younger and more creative demographic than Knightsbridge, will there be anything different about the pop-up? Part of our concept is high-low, in terms of the products we carry and we feel this mix suits Shoreditch/Liverpool Street perfectly. Mass and niche brands sitting alongside one another.
- Any products we should look out for? The pop up will be a bit low-fi but will have the same mix of products. We have some new additions, RGB, Rodin, Ilia and RMK are hitting the stores in the next few weeks, also PLUM by Mary Greenwell and a couple of other brands on the horizon but can’t say much yet, but all will be in Shoreditch!
