Stretch marks and cellulite are undoubtedly two of life’s very few guarantees, so it’s only natural that products promising to do away with the two are met with skepticism. However when these products recently landed through my letter box I’ll admit I did get a little curious and put them to the test. But did they work?
Soap & Glory Sit Tight Intense XS* – This serum promises to firm and tighten up the skin with a bunch of super scientific sounding and unpronounceable ingredients like Pressocapsular-Firm Plus, Detoxyboost Technology, Firmigen Caffeine Complex and Puffdrain 82. The names are trademarks and have been coined by Soap & Glory, so it’s difficult to know exactly what they are however more recognisable ingredients include ginseng and caffeine which stimulate blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. Verdict? It definitely works, but this won’t produce miracles. But if there’s anything miraculous about it then the massage roller steals the show as it really gets your circulation going. Oh, and a heads up – Soap & Glory call it a ‘slight and immediate heating’ but I called it fire. Prepare for your legs to feel like you’ve rubbed chili over them every time you use it!
Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream* – Claims include visible results in as little as two weeks, improved skin texture and reduced appearance of both red and silver stretchmarks. Like most women, I accept and move on, they fade away over time anyway. It’s been over a month and as I expected… not a single difference. Unlike most stretch mark products, the Stretch Mark Cream actually claims to fight against old as well as new, but it did neither. The cream contains Heptapeptide-7, an exclusive ingredient that boosts collagen production, shea butter, olive fruit oil, meadowfoam seed oil, cocoa butter and sodium hyaluronate, a humectant that draws 1,000 times its own weight in moisture to the skin making it incredibly moisturising, but that’s it. Seeing as patience is a virtue and all that, I will give this another try over a longer period of time and update you.
