Illamasqua Eyebrow Effects Course Hosted by Three Mobile
Until very recently the whole eyebrows on fleek thing was just incredibly daunting. Pencil or powder? How do I fill in my brows? Why can’t mine look like hers? These were questions that came to mind whenever I’d consider getting myself out of the shapeless brow rut that I was in. Interestingly, as though it were a manifestation of the dizzying New Year excitement that pushes one to try something new, I was surprised to find an invitation in my inbox to attend a private Eyebrow Effects Course at the Illamasqua School of Make-Up Art, hosted by Three Mobile to celebrate the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha.
During the class I got to discover indispensable tips like applying concealer both above and below the brow to highlight the area and give way to create a shape, mixing a brow powder like the Illamasqua Brow Cake with their Sealing Gel for a strong, more intense look and just in case the day comes where you might need to rock a coloured brow, a lip liner of all things will surprisingly come in handy. All of this was learned whilst using the Galaxy Alpha to document the class, which all the photos in this post were taken with – I’ll admit that I’ve always been on #teamiphone, but the Galaxy Alpha‘s camera is in a completely different league to that of the iPhone, so much so that I’ve been reconsidering my loyalty. Firstly, there’s the 12MP camera ensuring great focus and detail, but the standout for me is the Beauty Face feature, an airbrushing feature which is a selfie taker’s dream; ever take tens of selfies at a time and none are worthy of sharing on your social media platforms? It’s nice to know your phone has your back!
