The Mixstress Workshop | Somali Hair Mask

may07 yasminw 250 The Mixstress Workshop | Somali Hair MaskCheck out Somali model Yasmin Warsame, isn’t she a beauty?? I’ll be featuring some other gorgeous Somali models so watch this space!

I haven’t posted a recipe in light years which is weird considering I’m always posting them. This recipe is an amazingly wonderful hair mask containing dates;  I’m sure all you Muslimah’s are familiar with dates as we eat them during Ramadan but, Somalis eat dates all of the time and we eat them so much, that we even use them to get beautiful! Dates are incorporated into a Somali woman’s beauty routine but, not regularly, rather it’s a special treatment so this mask is special!

The mask only contains ghee and dates and the two ingredients leave your hair super duper uber soft. If you don’t have ghee, Olive Oil will work quite well. One thing though, this mask may be a little sticky so, there needs to be more ghee than dates otherwise your hair will be a sweet, sticky mess!

You’ll Need:

1/2 cup of date paste
2 cups of ghee

What to Do:

In a blender, mix both the date paste and the ghee. Smear it all over washed, damp hair for at least 30 minutes. Then wash out and follow with conditioner.

You will thank me later ladies!
