Muslimah Foodie | Beautiful Coconut Fruit Smoothie
As I write this write this, I’m literally physically and mentally exhausted; it’s been a long day. But, I had an amazing start to my day; I always make sure that the first thing that meets my lips is a delicious, nutritious smoothie.
The star of the show is coconut oil! I know coconut oil sounds weird in a smoothie, I too used to think so but, you can’t feel that there’s oil in the smoothie and it gives the smoothie the most delicious coconutty taste to it. The coconut oil aides with weight loss and it helps with your digestion so all the nasties lurking in your body exit your body leaving you with clearer, healthier skin! I’ve also added milled flaxseed with cocoa and berries which are jam packed with anti-oxidants, flavanols, Omega 3, iron, zinc and selenium; I’m no nutritionist but, all of these work to get your hair, nails and skin looking gorgeous!
To add to all the other goodness, frozen bananas, cherries and strawberries and a dollop of some raw honey!
1/2 a cup of frozen bananas
1 cup of frozen cherries
1 cup of frozen strawberries
2 tablespoons of Linwoods Milled Flaxseed, Cocoa and Berries
1 tablespoon of honey
1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil
1 & 1/2 cups of water
What to Do:
- Put the fruit, flaxseed and honey in the blender.
- Coconut Oil tends to become solid in room temperature so, scoop out the coconut oil and melt it in the microwave for around 30-35 seconds.
- Pour the oil into the blender.
- Add the water and blend at the highest setting.
