Clarins Extra-Firming Body Cream | Worth the Hype?
Firming body creams are the all the rage but there’s still a big question surrounding their legitimacy. Do they work?
I tried the Clarins Extra-Firming Body Cream which came with my Harrods Edition GlossyBox*. I absolutely love Clarins, they’re a brand that delivers products of an amazing quality but I’m often a little skeptical of a product that promises that it ‘lifts, tones, comforts’. Ingredients in the cream include lemon thyme which protects the skins elasticity, shea butter and jojoba oil which keeps the skin super moisturised and nourishes it and then there’s bocoa and centella asiatica which promotes collagen production.
In terms of its moisturising capability, the Clarins Extra-Firming Body Cream is a winner. Its thick, rich consistency is great enough to moisturise yet it sinks in perfectly so your skin isn’t left feeling greasy and slippery. For it’s claim to lift, tone and comfort, I’ll give it roughly 6 marks out of 10. I haven’t noticed a huge change however, it’s a nice and conventional moisturiser and thicker than most moisturisers which I do like. Applying it to areas where you feel need more help like the thighs, stomach and decolletage will help but if I’m honest, if you want to tone those areas up, the gym is your best weapon against them. The Clarins Extra-Firming Body Cream will only help with that to an extent.
