Inside My Bathroom Cabinet

I think almost every beauty fanatic has a problem storing the surplus of beauty products that drowns their bathrooms and until yesterday, I was avoiding the day I’d need throw out some products and finally create a decent organisation.

My bathroom cabinet now looks like something I want to show off and I’ve been using a few products from new brands such as Etat Pur and a fun collection from Dirty Works but as this is a mix of everything from haircare to dental care, I’ll probably do something specific to each branch of things beauty.

No7 Luxurious Foaming Shower OilI love a great shower oil, especially during the winter as they’re quite gentle on the skin and this shower oil is just that because of the combination of grapeseed and argan oils. One issue I have is that it doesn’t lather too well and I don’t love the scent.

Dirty Works Coconut Caress Body WashThe weather in London’s been a far cry from the month we’re in but when you’re in need of being transported to an island in the Caribbean despite being in a tiny shower, the Dirty Works Coconut Caress Body Wash* will take you there! I’ve found it to be quite moisturising which is probably because of one of the ingredients being coconut oil which my skin loves.

Avalon Organics Vitamin C Balancing Facial TonerWhen you find a product that does nothing but perform, you stick with it and that’s what I’m doing right here. Regardless of how well I think I’ve cleansed, the Avalon Organics Vitamin C Balancing Facial Toneralways manages to prove me wrong. The cucumber and papaya extracts along with the Vitamin C make it a delight to use.

CHI Straight Guard Smoothing Styling CreamIt’s not often that I straighten my hair but whenever I do, I absolutely love using this. Transforming a frizzy mess to sleek, smooth and tamed locks? It’s very possible with this. Also, you need the smallest amount to get you through.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Colour Deep TreatmentIt’s as cheap as chips but this will  always remain to be one of my favourite hair treatments ever. Coloured hair tends to be parched and in need of a drink so the Three Minute Miracle is most definitely the miraculous drink your hair’s been needing!

Etat Pur B20 Oil Free Quenching FluidThere’s nothing special about the Etat Pur B20 Oil Free Quenching Fluid* in the sense that it doesn’t zap wrinkles and brighten up the skin but it does the job at lightly hydrating my skin without breaking it out and it evens out and mattifies the skin which is a great start for creating a matte look with your make-up.

Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlilly Bath & Shower GelWhere do I begin? Let’s just begin with the fact that I have nothing negative to say about this! The Molton Brown Heavenly Gingerlily Moisture Bath & Shower is my favourite shower gel and favourite product from Molton Brown because of it’s beautiful scent. True luxury product!

Dirty Works Coconut Caress Body ButterI have a love/hate relationship with the smell of coconut but the Coconut Caress Body Butter* smells lovely and the scent lingers on the skin for hours upon hours. It’s got a thick, whipped consistency to it but it’s light and airy at the same time which concerned me as I prefer my body butters to be thicker but, not only do you smell great, your skin stays super moisturised too.

Pixi Catching Shadows CrayonThe Catching Shadows Crayon* is part of the Pixi Glow collection which is a collaboration between Tinkerbell and Pixi. It’s gold/champagne colour waterproof with a creamy texture but once it’s applied, it dries into a powder and doesn’t budge at all! The great thing here is how versatile it is. It can be used as a highlighter, eyeshadow to use all over the lids, inner corners or a little sweep just above the top lashes.

PHB Awaken & Revive Advanced Brightening Serum : This serum is almost a fruit salad in a bottle! There’s kiwi, apple and strawberry extract alongside vitamins A, C and E and also hylauronic acid to make the skin appear plumper and encourage skin cell renewal. Using the PHB Awaken & Revive Advanced Brightening Serum*, I’ve not noticed a significant difference in the appearance of my skin but I feel as though other products sink in a bit better and as I use this in the evening, my skin’s quite smoother than the night before.

So that’s my bathroom cabinet done and dusted (for now..). What’s currently sitting in your own bathroom cabinet?

  4. Confused Newbie

Asc Sis, love your blog, its fantastic!! Hope you can help me what with what you believe are ESSENTIAL products to have to start a skincare routine, as in the MUST HAVES! Because I really want to start taking care of my skin *you’ve inspired me* but there are SO many products out there today and most aimed at fairer skin and Im Somali too. Also I have found that my skin type is made up of many different types. E.g. my chin is quite oily as well as my t-zone but the area near my nostrils/upper lip is very dry and by cheeks are normal. Could you help a sister out? :)
