Combat Acne Whilst Wearing Make-Up (No, I’m Not Joking!)
I briefly mentioned the Dr Murad Skin Perfecting Primer Acne and Shine Control to help create a perfect base for make-up but I don’t think I tooted the horn enough because this primer is just a miracle!
Primers serve a multitude of purposes ranging from creating a dewy finish to making the skin glow but, I was pleasantly surprised to come across a primer with 0.5% salicylic acid which everyone with acne prone skin need to be incorporating into their skincare (lactic and glycolic acid will help acne too). Most people would recommend acne sufferers to steer well away from make-up therefore it seems quite ironic to wear make-up with salicylic acid to help control acne and breakouts which the primer promises to do. However, regardless of the condition of our skin, most of us want to wear make-up so Dr Murad is an absolute hero for creating a product that will essentially treat acne but help you look good at the same time.
You only need one pump of the primer to apply all over the skin and for those of you who are darker skinned, don’t be alarmed at how ashy your skin turns out to be. The primer is biscuity and beige in tone but once you apply foundation afterwards that’ll be gone however, if the primer manages to blend in well with your skintone then you may just have yourself a mini-foundation slash acne treatment on your hands!
In terms of lasting power, my make-up didn’t budge for almost 7 hours and was literally perfect. You know when you do your make-up and a couple of hours it’s magically disappeared? That annoys me too but without sounding like I’m exaggerating, your make-up will look exactly like it did when you left your house 3 hours later. I remember going to the bathroom to see if I needed to touch up but nope, the Dr Murad Skin Perfecting Primer Acne Shine and Control took away the job of me having to regularly freshen up.
0.5% salicylic acid, an acne buster and the key to making your make-up last.. you’re welcome!
