Prep Those Lips!

One of our most neglected areas on our body is our lips. We use them daily: talking, eating and etc. It’s one of the first things people notice in a conversation. With Fall/ Winter coming around the corner, it’s easy for them to get a real beating. I’m going to give you four tips to maintain soft lips.

Exfoliate - You can use what’s in your home! Get out sugar, honey and mix until your heart is content. Don’t forget to store it in a jar for future use. You can use your finger or toothbrush to scrub in circular motions to remove dead skin.

Seal - Always keep your lips moisturized. Not a day goes by where I don’t have a lip balm with me. I wear it under my lipsticks or alone on days when I feel low key. Currently I’m obsessed with Maybelline’s Baby Lips! The Body Shop and L’Oreal make some of my favourites as well. Stay away from those waxy, cheap balms. They settle in the lines on your lips and look horrible. Keeping your lips moisturized eliminates and signs of chap lips.

SPF - Yes.. I know spf is great for your skin but did you know that it’s great for your lips as well. Using SPF can eliminate premature creasing. I know some balms can give off a slight white cast(zinc), that’s nothing that a little colored gloss can’t eliminate :)

Hydrate - Water! Water! Water! All you need is water! Dehydrated lips = chapped lips. Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. I know it’s difficult but your lips and skin will thank you!

These tips are very straight forward but sometimes we all need a reminder. Enjoy your soft lips ladies!
