Parfum Du Jour | Versace Vanitas
I’m not great at describing fragrances but one word to describe Vanitas would be irresistible. I just cannot stop smelling this!
Vanitas is a wonderful floral fragrance from iconic fashion house, Versace and according to them Vanitas is ‘the union of pure elements, chosen and combined with harmony. A rich and voluptuous tiare flower sublimated by lime and freesia and enveloped by sensual accents of cedar wood and tonka bean’. The top notes are lime and fresia, tiare is at the heart and tonka bean and cedar wood are the bottom notes. I usually dislike fragrances with cedar wood as I find it a little too woody for my liking however, I only found out that cedar wood was in the fragrance after I had tried it and fell in love. Definitely a lesson to try fragrances with cedar wood just in case!
Tiare is one of my ultimate favourite scents ever because it has the fragrance like no other flower out there. It has this creaminess and depth about it that makes it so addictive and Versace were geniuses for adding tiare to Vanitas alongside the zestiness that lime brings. This is definitely a spring fragrance but it’s September and the weather is starting to get colder but who cares? I’ll be making sure I wear this all year round.
Vanitas‘ staying power is very powerful, it stays forever and ever and just lingers on your clothing for days. Don’t you love when you put away an item of clothing you wore a few days ago, you put it to one side only to come across it again and it still smells like the perfume?
If you like floral scents with a little depth, this is for you!
