Product of the Month | Glytone KP Kit

The Glytone KP Kit is actually far too good to be Product of the Month, it’s definitely one of my favourite products of the entire year but I can’t keep myself from typing away and raving about how good it is. It’s exactly the reason why I love glycolic acid because there’s manual exfoliation which is done with body scrubs and then there’s chemical exfoliation with the likes of glycolic acid which is a million times more effective. I use body scrubs almost everyday however nothing has worked as well as the Glytone KP Kit thanks to the 8.8% glycolic acid content in the Exfoliating Body Wash and 17.5% glycolic acid in the  Rexturize Body Lotion.

Keratosis Pilaris is ‘a common skin condition in which a protein in the skin called keratin forms hard plugs within hair follicles’ which therefore leaves some areas of the skin like the buttocks, arms and thighs bumpy and sometimes red. I have very, very mild Keratosis Pilaris but I thought I’d still give the KP Kit a try as I ‘m a sucker for anything that promises to leave my skin smoother. To get that smooth skin, I’d use the kit which comes with a pouf which you use with the Exfoliating Body Wash and then the Retexturize Body Lotion after getting out of the shower. I’m not a fan of poufs, I find that they don’t exfoliate well so I use a Japanese bath towel or a shower glove which exfoliates a lot better.

Using the products, I first shower with any usual soap or shower gel before using the Exfoliating Body Wash as it ‘s quite expensive and I wouldn’t want to waste it. Then after using the body wash twice, I’ll use the lotion after drying up and focusing on rough and bumpy areas and scars. Considering that the lotion has quite a high percentage of glycolic acid, it’s best to be careful when using it on your neck and chest as the skin is thinner (you may feel the skin tingle around that area). I would do this every day and within a week of using the kit, I noticed that the skin on my elbows and knees were ridiculously smooth which is a little odd as it’s usually far from that! I’ve been using the kit for quite some time now and my skin is significantly even, soft, smooth and glowing. It’s also made it incredibly easy to remove hair be that shaving, epilating or using a hair removal cream as it decreases the chances of getting ingrown hairs which most women have problems with.

I’d recommend this if you have Keratosis Pilaris, however I’d recommend it to anyone else too especially if you have uneven skintone, rough and bumpy skin, small scarring and hyperpigmentation as the glycolic acid will make quite a difference. I’d give this two months to make the best difference so get in touch with me if you decide to use it and tell me how you getting along with this!

  1. Hi I have mild KP also. This product might get me some of that celebrity smooth skin!
Beyonce, Rhianna, Megan Goode’ skin etc always looks as smooth as butter. I wonder how they get it that way.

Where can you buy this product in the U.K?
Great blog by the way, your reviews seem more real and true compared to other blogs that I follow. Love the home-made stuff that you do.

Thank you very much Sasha :) You find it at Skinmedix (http://bit.ly/RnVdn3).

The celebs work very hard to get their bodies, as well as the extensive working out I’m sure they get a tonne of treatments and their money gives them the opportunity to a glam squad to help with every skin issue there is!
