Weekend Reads | The Cult Favourites
When you find something that works whether it be the red lipstick that was just destined to find its way to you through the beauty halls of Selfridges or the cleanser that’s the right amount of cleansing but never drying, you stick with it and that’s what I call a cult favourite. I have a serious amount of products scattered across my house but when it comes to it I know exactly what I’d save in an emergency. It’s sort of like knowing who your best friends are among a crowd of friends!
Nothing, and I mean nothing has given me smoother, bump free skin than the Glytone KP Kit and that’s all thanks to the 8.8% glycolic acid content in the Exfoliating Body Wash and 17.5% glycolic acid in the Rexturize Body Lotion.
Each of my work desk beauty essentials like Egyptian Magic and the new but already revolutionary NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser have cult status among a million other beauty obsessives and there’s very good reason for that.
A lot has changed since I wrote that post, however some things never change and my love for Saaf’s Cleansing Balm cannot be stopped!
I get a lot of ladies telling me about their skin dilemmas and I actually tell most of them to incorporate glycolic acid into their skincare regimen. It’s a great acid to address a range of concerns such as dry skin, acne, hyperpigmentation and rough skin so check out my selection of products including my absolute favourite night product, the Olay Regenerist Night Renewal Elixir which has completely transformed my skin.
NARS’ Orgasm blush is known worldwide and probably in the remote Sahara desert as being the blush that just everyone loves so much so that rapper Drake gave it a little mention!
Nabeel’s Touch Me is little known outside of the Middle East, but boy is it huge over there. The bakhour version of this, a block you place over coal to produce a fragrant smoke now comes in soap form and it smells exactly like the bakhour my mum would use as a young child to fragrance our home. It’s a very strong fragrance with notes of jasmine, ylang ylang and oud and that’s what I love about it. It leaves the skin very clean but not stripped of moisture and it also fills your bathroom with the gorgeous smell too.
With Huda being my favourite beauty blogger ever, I take her recommendations seriously so after seeing this review I got my hands on the Olay Regenerist Night Renewal Elixir and I’ll never stop using it!
Let’s face it, there are some over hyped products out there and I couldn’t agree anymore with this post (although I disagree about Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream*)!
